About

The Teddy Bear Club provides a loving Christian environment that responds to the development of the whole child.  We offer a balance of free choice and structured activities. We believe children build positive self-concept through interactions with a rich and varied environment, other children, and warm, supportive adults.

Our Philosophy

We feel that young children learn and grow best in an environment that responds to their physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs. Through our curriculum that includes language arts, science, mathematics, music, art, drama and movement education, along with the incorporation of the “I Am Special” religion lessons, your child will have the opportunity to nurture and develop their skills and discover who they are. Through activities in large and small group, as well as individual settings, your child will be encouraged to choose activities based on their abilities and interests that will enhance their sense of initiative and competence. Our choice of discipline, Love and Logic by Jim and Charles Fay, contributes to the warm, gentle, learning atmosphere.

Our Credentials

The Teddy Bear Club is a licensed preschool facility and all of our staff undergo regular background checks and must be cleared through a formal record check process. We also meet the requirements of the Iowa Department of Human Services and are a participant in the Iowa Quality Rating System. These credentials help us ensure that your child is safe and cared for by quality individuals who will foster an environment where all children may develop a positive self-concept through a balance of free choice and structured activities.
