We want to make sure you are informed about the wonderful activities your child is engaging in at the Teddy Bear Club. We will provide you with information about our lessons for the week, unique things happening in our classroom and post if we are closing for weather-related conditions.



12-13-18

Today at Teddy Bear our schedule was a little different . When friends arrived they played in large and small motor center and Mrs. Moore greeted each student. We started our brain start smart circle time right away.  The students said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. We welcomed back a friend by singing our welcome back song.  The class connected with friends by dancing on the carpet to ”School Family” on the It Starts with the Heart CD.The children calmed their bodies by using the breathing arms breathing technique. Next, we headed over to the church to practice our Christmas songs. When we arrived back at school, we celebrated a friend’s birthday. After snack we played in centers while some friends worked on a Christmas project. Before lunch we read the silly book Mrs. Toggle’s Zipper by Robin Pulver.  Our God and Me devotional was about listening to God, parents, friends and teachers. We prayed and asked God to help us to listen. After lunch, we played inside in the large motor centers and then read the book The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog! By Mo Willems.



12-12-18

 Wednesday was a wonderful day at Teddy Bear Club! The children began their day in the small and large motor centers. After all friends did their morning jobs and greeted Mrs. Moore, we started circle time. We began circle time by lighting the Advent wreath. During circle time we cheered our friend's name, said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather. The students sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. The class connected with friends by dancing to the song "Get Ready" on the It Starts with the Heart CD. We missed one of our friends who is sick today, so we wished her well and prayed for her. The students calmed their bodies by doing the drain breathing technique. In our mystery Christmas present today there were three Christmas trees; small, medium, and large.  We read the book SnowBear’s Christmas CountDown by Theresa Smythe. During snack, we celebrated a friend’s birthday and then we practiced our Christmas songs. Next, we played in centers while some students worked on a Christmas project. Before lunch we counted our kindness flowers. Our kindness Christmas tree is getting full of kindness acts that all the friends at Teddy Bear Club have been doing during this Christmas season. We listen to the story The Gingerbread Man by Karen Schmidt.  Our God and Me was about our voice and how sometimes we whisper and sometimes we yell. We thanked God for our voice. After lunch we bundled up and went to the All saints playground to play.



12-11-18

 We started our day in the small and large motors centers. The children arrived, washed their hands and found their first and last name written on a snowman. The students greeted Mrs. Moore and did their morning jobs.  At circle time we talked about preparing for the birth of Jesus and how the Advent wreath is a reminder of our preparation. We then lit two purple candles on the Advent wreath (turned on the battery operated candle). Next, we talked about the Holy Family in the middle of our wreath and why the Holy Family is so important.  Mrs. Moore gave a clue for the class to guess what was in the mystery present. Today the present was Joseph. He was then placed in the Christmas sensory table. Next, we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. We welcomed back a friend who was out of town and sang our wish well song for a friend who is sick. The class connected with friends by dancing on the carpet to ”Welcome” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The children calmed their bodies by using the thumb tracker and drain breathing technique.  The book we read today is entitled This is the Stable by Cynthia Cotton.  After snack, we practiced our Christmas songs. Next, we played in the centers while some of our friends worked on a Christmas project. Before lunch, we listened to the story Wake Up, Santa Claus! By Marcus Pfister. Our God and Me devotional was about how it feels when you are lost or frightened. We prayed to God and asked Him to help us when we get frightened. After lunch, we ran on the pathway near the church.



12-10-18

What a marvelous sunny Monday! Friends found their snowman and did their morning jobs while exploring the small and large motor centers. We lit two candles on our Advent wreath because it is the second week of Advent and then we talked about the Holy Family.  At circle time we cheered on of our friend’s name, said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. We welcome backed a friend who was out of town and we wished well a friend who was gone today. The class connected with friends by dancing and singing to the song ”That Was Helpful” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. After the song we talked about how we can be helpful and kind and that when we see kindness in the classroom we will put an ornament up on our kindness tree. The children calmed their bodies by using the drain breathing technique. Rubble, our classroom teddy bear came back from visiting with one of our friends and shared with the class what he did over the weekend. We read the book Clifford’s Christmas by Norman Bridwell. After snack, we practiced our Christmas songs. During centers some of our friends worked on a Christmas project. Before lunch we read the book There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow by Lucille Colandro. Our God and Me was about getting upset when we get into trouble. We prayed and asked God to help us learn from our mistakes.  After lunch, we ran around the pathway near the church.



12-7-18

 Teddy Bear Club had a fun Friday today. When the children arrived, they washed their hands and then played in the Teddy large motor centers until it was their turn to find their snowman and do their morning jobs. The students answered the question of the day and selected a mitten with a shape or number on it.  At circle time we cheered our friends name, said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. Today’s mystery present was snowmen.   The class connected with friends by dancing on the carpet to ”School Family” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The children calmed their bodies by using the drain and S.T.A.R breathing technique. We read the book The Littlest Reindeer by Moira Butterfield.  After snack, we practiced our Christmas songs and then explored the learning centers. Before lunch we listened to the book I’ve Seen Santa! by David Bedford.  Our God and Me devotional today was about sharing all that God gives us. After lunch, we played inside in the large motor centers and then read the book Llama Llama Holiday Drama byAnna Dewdney.



12-6-18

 

Happy Saint Nicholas Day! When the children arrived, they washed their hands and then played in the large motor centers until it was their turn to find their snowman and do their morning jobs.  At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. We wished well two friends who are got of town. The class connected with friends by dancing on the carpet to”I Wish You Well” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. We lit our Advent wreath and guessed what was in our mystery present. The students noticed the Christmas Tree on the wall in the block center. This is our Classroom Kindness Christmas Tree. When a student does an act of kindness we will write it on an ornament and he or she will hang it on the tree. The ornaments will be sent home before Christmas break.  The children calmed their bodies by going the thumb tracker and the drain breathing technique. Today we talked about Saint Nicholas and then watched the movie Saint Nicholas: A Story of Joyful Giving by Veggie Tales. After snack, we practiced our Christmas songs and then played in the learning centers. Before lunch we read the book Pete the Cat Saves Christmas by James Dean. Our God and was about where are fruits and vegetables come from. We thanked God for all the food He provides us. The children then shared with Christmas bear acts of kindness they can do at Teddy Bear Club. After lunch the children ran on the pathway by the church. Book orders are due Friday, December 7. Please return all library books. We will not be going back to the library until after Christmas break.

We had a fun "Waving Wednesday at Teddy Bear Club today. The children began their day in the small and large motor centers. After all friends did their morning jobs and greeted Mrs. Moore.  At circle time we cheered our friend's name, said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather.  We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. We wished well a friend who was gone and a friend who is traveling today. We began the day by lighting the Advent wreath and naming our class elf, Twinkle Star. We found Twinkle Star in the ceiling fan today watching us as we sat on the carpet. The children guessed Mary; the mother of Jesus was in the mystery present. We put Mary in the Christmas sensory table to join Jesus. The class connected with friends by dancing to the song "Welcome" on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The students calmed their bodies by doing the balloon and the drain breathing technique. We then talked about a special saint who will be celebrating his feast day tomorrow. Mrs. Moore showed the class a picture of Saint Nicholas. We read the book The Legend of St. Nicholas by Dandi Daley Mackall. During snack we celebrated a friend’s birthday. After snack we practiced our Christmas songs and then played in centers. Before lunch, we read the book Santa Duck by David Mulgrim. Our God and Me devotional was about welcoming our friends and family into our house and sharing with them. After lunch, we had a fire drill. The children did a great job quietly lining up. Next, the students bundled up and went outside to ran on the pathway near the church. Scholastic book order forms were sent home. Books make a great Christmas present! If you are interested in giving your child a book for a present, we will make sure your child does not see it. Just let us know at pick up or drop off or send an email. To get the books back before school closes for Christmas, the due date for the orders is Friday, December 7th.

What a beautiful snowy day! We started our day in the small and large motors centers. The children arrived, washed their hands and found their first and last name written on a snowman. The students greeted Mrs. Moore and did their morning jobs.  At circle time we talked about preparing for the birth of Jesus and how the Advent wreath is a reminder of our preparation. We then lit a purple candle on the Advent wreath (turned on the battery operated candle). Next, we talked about the Holy Family in the middle of our wreath and why the Holy Family is so important. All the students found our classroom elf hiding on our Christmas tree. They also noticed a present on the table. Mrs. Moore gave a clue for the class to guess what was in the mystery present. Today the present was baby Jesus. He was then placed in the Christmas sensory table. Next, we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. The class connected with friends by dancing on the carpet to ”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The children calmed their bodies by using the thumb tracker and drain breathing technique.  The book we read today is entitled And Then Comes Christmas by Tom Brenner. This book talked all the different changes that are occurring in December in preparation for Christmas.  After snack, we practiced our Christmas songs. Next, we learned about each of our new centers including our Christmas sensory table.  We then played in the centers. Before lunch, we read the book Russell’s Christmas Magic by Rob Scotton.Our God and Me devotional was about sharing and how God has shared everything on Earth with us and that is why we are so grateful to God and the many blessings that He gives us. Friends shared with Christmas Bear what they are grateful for before going to wash their hands for lunch. After lunch, the children played in the large motor centers. We read the book Can I Play Too? By Mo Willems.

Teddy Bear Club hopes that everyone had a great weekend. Today starts a new month which means new toys!  The children did their morning jobs. All of the children were assigned a new job for the week. . Next, we cheered our friend's name, said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. The class connected with friends by dancing to the song "Welcome" on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The students calmed their bodies by doing the "breathing arms" breathing technique. Miss Collum talked about a story from the I Am Special curriculum called “Preparing for Christmas". After snack, we headed over to the library. At the library Mrs. Wilson read the book Pig the Elf by Aaron Blabey. When we got back to school we talked about the new toys in the centers.   Before lunch we read the book called When Grandma Saved Christmas by Julia Hubery. Our God and Me devotional was about A Smelly Mess!  We prayed to God that we are sorry for messing up his wonderful world. And to please forgive us and teach us to take better care of it. After lunch, we ran over at the church.

Happy Friday! We've made it through another month! We started the day by playing in centers and doing our jobs. A couple of friends shared a show and tell. Mrs. Bertram read "Smelling" by Helen Frost. We ate snack and came back to the big room to practice some Chrsitmas songs. The friends got to explore centers again, while Miss Collum continued the sense of smell activity with friends in the kitchen. After some of the friends left for the weekend, it was time to get ready for lunch. We sang and danced to "Wiggle Them", "Five Senses", and "Tooty Ta" and we prayed with God and Me. God and Me was about unkind words. Sometimes we say unkind words that may upset someone. God wants us to use kind words and be friendly to one another.

We had a wonderful Thursday morning today. Friends visited the apple tree and did their morning jobs while exploring the small and large motor centers. At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. The class connected with friends by dancing and singing to the song ”School Family” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The children calmed their bodies by using the thumb tracker breathing technique. We read the book I Smell: Sing and Read by JoAnn Cleland. We talked about our sense of smell and all the different things we can small with our nose. The students shared with the class things that they think smell good and things that smell gross. After snack, we practiced our Christmas songs.  During learning center time, some friends had the opportunity to use their sense of smell by smelling near an opening of a bag without peeking to try to guess what was inside of the bag. The children guessed popcorn, peanut butter, and cinnamon correctly. Before lunch we sang the song “Give Me a Clap” by Dr.Jean and we read the book When Get Bigger by Mercer Mayer. Our God and Me was about cleaning up our toys and why that is so important. After lunch we played in the snow.



11-28-18

We had a super fun Wednesday learning all about our sense of taste. The children began their day in the small and large motor centers. After all friends did their morning jobs and greeted Mrs. Moore, we started circle time.We began circle time by welcoming a new friend to Teddy Bear Club. During circle time we cheered our friend's name, said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather.  We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. The class connected with friends by dancing to the song "Get Ready" on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The students calmed their bodies by doing the balloon breathing technique. We then read the book Taste by Helen Frost and then did a felt board activity about our five senses. Next, we sang the song “5 Senses” by Dr. Jean and we practiced one of our Christmas songs.  After snack, we had a tornado drill.  During centers, friends had an opportunity to taste test cocoa, salt, sugar and lemon juice. Before lunch we counted our kindness flowers. We talked about how it feels when we get angry. The students then did the actions to the songs "Anger Got Ahold of Me", "Breathe" and "Choose to Be a S.T.A.R" on Listen to Your Feelings CD. Our God and Me was about taking care of our pets. After lunch we bundled up and went outide to play in the snow.

Teddy Bear Club hopes that all of you had a Happy Thanksgiving break and a fun snow day.  When the girls and boys arrived at school they played in the large motor centers until it was their turn to find their name on the apple tree. The children did their morning job by reading the letters in their name, answering the question of the day and selecting a turkey with a number and matching number of shapes.  All of the children were assigned a new job for the week. At circle time we welcomed a new student by singing a welcome song. Next, we cheered our friend's name, said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song and welcomed back a friend  who was out of town last week. The class connected with friends by dancing to the song "Welcome" on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The students calmed their bodies by doing the balloon breathing technique. We read the book Tasting by Sharon Gordon. We talked about how on our tongue we have taste buds that detect four different types of tastes: salty, sweet, bitter and sour.  After snack, we headed over to the library. At the library Mrs. Wilson read the book The Christmas Selfie Contest by Rosie Greening. When we got back to school we explored the learning centers. During centers some of our friends had the opportunity to taste four different foods to determine what type of taste each was. The children taste tested cocoa, salt, sugar and lemon juice. There  were a lot of funny faces made when the children tasted each flavor.  Before lunch we listened to the book First Snow by Bernette Ford. Our God and Me devotional was about all the different landscapes on the Earth and how beautiful each one is. After lunch we played inside because of the cold weather.

Welcome to Wednesday!  We played in the centers while waiting for all our friends to join us. We voted on what Thanksgiving books to read today. First book voted in that Miss Collum read was called "A Plump and Perky Turkey" by Teresa Bateman.  Miss Collum also wanted to read "The Thanksgiving Surprise" by Peggy Archer as well to the class.  We went in for snack and came back to play in centers. Before lunch, we read the book called "Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving" by Dav Pilkey.  Our God and Me was about The Moon and the Stars. We thanked God for the moon that gives us light and the stars that shine bright. After lunch, we went over to the church and ran. We will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving. Everyone have a great Thanksgiving and be safe!

What a beautiful "Tapping Tuesday" .  The students did their morning jobs and answered the question of the day. During circle time we clapped our friend's name, said the pledge of allegiance, checked the weather, and sang our safekeeper commitment. We wished well one of our friends who is out of town and welcomed back a friend . The students danced and connected with each other by singing the song “School Family”.  We calmed our bodies by doing the pretzel and thumb tracker  breathing technique. Next, one of our friends shared her show-n-tell.  The book we read today is entitled This First Thanksgiving: Counting Story by Laura Melmed.  After snack,  we sang the song "5 Little Turkeys" and then danced to the song "Turkey Stroll" on the Holiday CD. During centers some of the students made a turkey.  Before lunch we listened to the book Thanksgiving for Emily Ann by Teresa Johnston. Our God and Me devotional was about the universe and how hug and beautiful it is. After lunch, we ran on the pathway near the church. There is no school on Nov.21-23. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

We wished well a friend who was gone and a friend who is traveling today. The class connected with friends by dancing to the song "Get Ready" on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The students calmed their bodies by doing the balloon breathing technique. We then read the book Spiky, Slimy, Smooth by Jane Brocket. During the book we talked about different types of textures and how each texture feels when we use our sense of touch. Some friends had an opportunity to touch different textures of fabrics and describe how each one felt.  After snack, we sang the song “5 Senses” by Dr. Jean and we practiced one of our Christmas songs. During centers, friends had an opportunity to stick their hand in a mystery box and try to guess the item inside by only using their sense of touch. Next, the children used their sense of touch to touch feathers and describe how they felt. They described the feathers as light, soft and fluffy. We used the feathers to decorate our turkey art project. Before lunch we counted our kindness flowers and sang the song “5 Little Turkeys”. We listened to the book The Leaves on the Trees by Thom Wiley. Our God and Me devotional was about an instrument that God has given all of us. It is our voice! The students shared their favorite song to sing. After lunch, the students played at the All Saints playground.



11-19-18

We welcomed two new friends today by singing our good morning song. At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. The class connected with friends by dancing on the carpet to ”That was Helpful” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The children calmed their bodies by using the thumb tracker breathing technique.  The book we read today is entitled What Is Thanksgiving by Harriet Ziefert. We discussed why we celebrate Thanksgiving and what friends’ families will be eating on Thanksgiving. After snack we checked out books at the library.  We played in centers when we returned to school.  Some friends made turkeys to decorate their Thanksgiving table. Before lunch, we read the silly book There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Turkey by Lucillle Colandro. Our God and Me devotional was about money and how we should try to spend our money wisely. We prayed and asked God to help us to make good choices with what we spend our money on. After lunch, we played outside on the All Saints playground.

Teddy Bear Club had a fun Friday today. When the children arrived, they washed their hands and then played in the large motor centers until it was their turn to find their name on the apple tree and do their morning jobs.  At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. The class connected with friends by dancing on the carpet to ”School Family” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. Two friends shared their show-n-tell today.  The children calmed their bodies by using the pretzel breathing technique. We read the book Hearing by Helen Frost. After snack, the baby dolls came out for our Baby Doll Circle Time curriculum.  During centers the students had the opportunity to listen to sound boxes and guess the items in the boxes by listening to the sound that the items made. After lunch we sang the song “5 Little Turkeys” and “Alligator and Monkey” by Dr. Jean. Our God and Me today was about cooking and food. We thanked God for all the good food He has given us. After lunch, we played outside at the All Saints playground.



11-15-18

Teddy Bear Club had a great day learning about our sense of hearing!  Friends did their morning job by reading their letters in their name, answering the question of the day and selecting a turkey with a number and matching number of shapes.  At circle time we cheered our friend's name, said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather.  We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. We wished well a friend who is out of town. The class connected with friends by dancing to the song “That was Helpful” and on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The students calmed their bodies by doing the drain breathing technique. Two friends shared their show-n-tell. Next, we did a fun activity while using our sense of hearing. Each friend selected an instrument to play behind a blanket and the rest of the class listened to the sound and then guessed what instrument it was. We then read the book I Hear: Sing and Read by JoAnn Cleland.  After snack, we sang the song “5 Senses” by Dr. Jean and practiced one of our Christmas songs. During centers we had a fire drill with the actual fire alarm. The students did an excellent job listening and quietly getting out of the building safely. Before lunch we read the book Leaf Man by Lois Ethert. Our God and Me was about our legs and how we use them to run, jump, skip, swim and dance. We prayed and thanked God for our legs. Today we played outside at the All Saints playground.



11-13-18

We had a wonderful Tuesday morning today. Friends visited the apple tree and did their morning jobs while exploring the small and large motor centers. At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. The class connected with friends by dancing and singing to the song ”Welcome” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. We then welcomed a new friend to Teddy Bear Club.The children calmed their bodies by using the balloon breathing technique. We read the book I Touch: Sing and Read by JoAnn Cleland. We talked about our sense of touch and how it helps us to know the way something feels. We passed around a rock and each child described how it felt. Some of the children also got to touch different fabrics with different textures. After snack, we headed over to the library. Mrs. Wilson read the book  One is a Feast for Mouse: A Thanksgiving Tale by Judy Cox. After our library visit we dropped our books off at school and went on a short nature walk and used 3 of our 5 senses. During our walk we talked about the things we heard, smelled and saw. We also collected some items that we will touch in our mystery boxes and look at under a magnifying glass. When we returned, the class explored the learning centers. Before lunch we sang the songs “5 Little Turkeys” and “Mr. Turkey” and then we read the book Five Flying Turkeys by Barbara B. McGrath. Our God and Me was about praying for friends and family who are sick. The children prayed for aunts, uncles, moms, grandparents and pets. After lunch the children played at the All Saints playground.



11-12-18

Thank you, veterans, for serving our country! We had a nice day at Teddy Bear Club today. A new friend was welcomed. Mrs. Bertram led the friends in the ever-fun song 'Move and Freeze' and then read the story "The Littlest Pilgrim" by Brandi Daugherty. After the friends had snack, we joined on the carpet again and sang the silly 'Mr. Turkey' song, and then it was time to explore centers. When it was time to get ready for lunch, Mrs. Bertram let the friends choose between "Thanksgiving Cats" and "Turkey for Thanksgiving." The winner was "Thanksgiving Cats" by Jean Marzollo. God and Me was all about teeth. Together we prayed: Thank You, God, for teeth to bite, to crunch and munch and chew. I'll keep them bright and clean and white, to last my whole life through. Amen.- After lunch, the friends got to enjoy some time on the All Saints playground!

Today is Friday and our first snowfall! We all played in centers as the friends arrived for the day. Miss Collum rang the 'tidy-up' bell so we could get started for the day. Our bodies got moving and brains got ready by dancing and singing to the "My School Family" song. Miss Collum led the friends in the "5 Little Turkeys" song and then read "Fall" by Sian Smith. Then it was time to have our morning snack. After snack, Miss Collum lead the friends in the "Mr. Turkey" song. The friends got to explore centers again until it was time to get ready for lunch. They listened to the story "The Nutty Nut Chase" by Kathryn White and we all prayed with "God and Me," which today's devotion was about Singing to God. God loves when we sing to him, even though we may not be the greatest singers.n After lunch, the friends got all bundled up to run over at the Church tunnel area.  Have a Great Weekend!

What a wonderful day we had today! We all played in centers as the friends arrived  for the day. Miss Collum rang the 'tidy-up' bell so we could get started for the day. Our bodies got moving and brains got ready by dancing and singing to the "Get Ready" song. Miss Collum led the friends in the "5 Little Turkeys" song and then read "Giving Thanks Book" by Catherine Hepka. Then it was time to have our morning snack. After snack, Mrs. Bertram lead the friends in the "Turkey Stroll" and "Pumpkins" song. They really enjoyed that! The friends got to explore centers again until it was time to get ready for lunch. Mrs. Bertram read the fun book, "Fancy Nancy and Fall Fooliage" and we all prayed with "God and Me," which today's devotion was about how great it is to be part of God's family. After lunch, the friends got all bundled up to go play on the AllSaints playground.

One of our friends shared his show-n-tell today.  The children calmed their bodies by using the drain breathing technique.  We read the book Seeing by Helen Frost.  We sang the “Turkey Strut” song and used our eyes to identify each colored turkey. After snack, we sang the song the “5 Little Turkeys” Next, we did a Feeling Buddy Curriculum lesson about how anger can get a hold of us when things don't go the way we want them to go. We sang the song “Anger Got Ahold of Me” “Breathe” and 'Choose to Be a S.T.A.R” on the Listen to your Feelings CD by Dr. Becky Bailey. Next, we explored the learning centers, while some friends made sweet gum leaves with liquid watercolors by using their sense of sight to watch the colors mix and blend.  Before lunch, we read the book Hey, Pancakes! By Tamson Weston. Then we danced to the song “Watch and Listen” by The Learning Station. Our God and Me devotional was about playing with our friends and taking turns. After lunch, we played at the Teddy Bear Club playground. There is no school on Thursday, Friday, and Monday. Daycare will be provided on those days. Have a wonderful 5 day weekend.

The children shared what they can see by using their sense of sight. We sang our “5 Senses” song by Dr. Jean.  After snack, we danced to the song “Turkey Stroll” on the Holiday CD. Next, our babies came out to play for Baby Doll Circle Time. We snuggled our babies and sang to them about their 5 senses and touched their nose, eyes, mouth, ears, and fingers.  After we sang goodnight to our baby dolls, we played in centers, while some friends made sweet gum leaves with colored dyes by using their sense of sight to watch the colors mix and blend.  Before lunch, we listened to the book Who Goes There? By Karma Wilson.  Our God and Me devotional was friends and how Jesus is our friend. We prayed and thanked Jesus for our friends. After lunch, we went inside in large motor centers.

Today we began our 5 senses unit! When the girls and boys arrived at school they played in the large motor centers until it was their turn to find their name on the apple tree. The children did their morning job by reading the letters in their name, answering the question of the day and selecting a turkey with a number and matching number of shapes.  At circle time we welcomed a new student by singing a welcome song. Next, we cheered our friend's name, said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather. One of our friends shared his show-n-tell and friends asked him questions. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. We welcomed back a friend who was sick and a friend who was out of town last week. The class connected with friends by dancing to the song "Get Ready" on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The students calmed their bodies by doing the balloon breathing technique. We read the book Your Senses by Helen Frost. After the book we sang the song “5 senses” by Dr. Jean. After snack, we headed over to the library. At the library Mrs. Wilson read the book Grace’s Thanksgiving by Lisa Bullard. When we got back to school we explored the learning centers. Before lunch we read the book Clifford’s First Autumn by Norman Birdwell. Our God and Me devotional was about how everyone has a different fingerprint and there is no one in the world just like us, we are all special. After lunch we played outside on the All Saints playground.

After the book the children met our classroom turkey, Tom the Turkey. In a circle we took turns and shared what we our thankful. Throughout November, the students will be telling the teachers what they are thankful for and they will write it on a feather for the children to put on Tom the Turkey. By the end of November we will have a very colorful and thankful classroom turkey. After snack, the danced to “Pumpkins” and “Turkey Stroll” on the Holiday CD. Next,  we explored the learning centers. Before lunch we sang and did the actions to the song “Monkey and Alligator” by Dr. Jean. Our God and Me devotional was about nurses and how they help us when we are sick. We thanked God for nurses. After lunch we played outside on the All Saints playground.

What a great first day of November. We started our day in the small and large motor centers.  The students did their morning jobs and answered the question of the day. During circle time we said the pledge of allegiance, checked the weather, and sang our safekeeper commitment. We wished well one of our friends who is sick today and welcomed back a friend who was sick yesterday. The students danced and connected with each other by singing the song “Who”. This fun song asks the children who let their manners, kindness and caring out.  We calmed our bodies by doing the balloon breathing technique. The book we read today is entitled Thanksgiving Day  by Gail Gibbons. The book talked about Thanksgiving and why we celebrate it. We discussed that Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday in November. Then we talked about the different foods people eat on Thanksgiving and why.  The book talked about a cornucopia or a horn of plenty, just like the one we have in our housekeeping center. After snack we went on a tour of each of the centers and learned about the new toys in each center. This month we have a grocery store in our housekeeping center. Please send with your child clean empty containers, such as food boxes or plastic bottles to help fill the selves in the grocery store. Before lunch we read the book When the Leaf Blew In by Steve Metzger. Our God and Me devotional was about our special eyes and how they help us see the world God made. We shared with each other our eye color and why our eyes are so special. We played on the All Saints playground today.

Happy Halloween! Our Halloween party was a blast. Friends arrived in costume with smiles on their faces. We played in small and large centers until it was time to clean up. The children did their morning jobs, answered the question of the day and got their Halloween greeting from Mrs. Moore. We read the book Pete the Cat Trick or Pete by James Dean and then we went on a "Spooky Walk". The children split up into two groups. Some friends played pin the nose on the Jack-o-lantern and other friends played a pumpkin bean bag game. For snack today we had a special Halloween treat, vampire doughnuts. After snack we played Halloween Bingo with letters. Mrs. Moore wrote a letter on the white board and friends had to find that letter on their bingo card.  We used candy corn to mark the spots on the bingo card and then had a sweet treat after the game. When the bingo was over we played in the learning centers. Before lunch we listened to the book Clifford's Halloween by Norman Birdwell and then we sang the songs “5 Little Pumpkins” "There is a Spider on Floor" by Raffi. Our God and Me devotional was about how special our eyes are. We talked about the many things that our eyes allow us to see. After lunch we played on the All Saints playground. Have fun trick-or-treating tonight!

Today was such a fun filled day at Teddy Bear Club. All of our friends showed up in costume. We began our day in small and large motor centers. One of our friends shared her show-n-tell. We then read the book Inside a House that is Haunted by Alyssa Satin Capucilli. After a restroom break we headed over to All Saints, where we joined the preschool parade around the school. It was a lot of fun seeing friends, brother, sisters and cousins. When we returned back to school we ate snack and played musical pumpkins. Next, the children played in centers. Before lunch we read the book What Was I Scared of? By Dr. Seuss and then we did our "Spooky Walk" song. Our God and Me devotional was all about loving everyone even when we get upset with someone. We prayed and asked Jesus to help us to love everyone like he did. After lunch we played outside at All Saints School. I apologize if yesterday's blog did not post. It looked as if it did not save correctly. It is now posted. Sorry about that.

We wished well a friend who was sick today and welcomed back a friend who was sick and  Mrs. Bertram .The class connected with friends by dancing on the carpet to “Welcome” and "Get Ready" on the It Starts with the Heart CD and then we all sat on the carpet for the "Spooky Walk” song. The students calmed their bodies by doing the breathing arms and the drain breathing technique. Friends were greeted by a puppet named, Leon. Leon showed everyone his monster Halloween costume. He explained that monsters do not exist and they are just costumes. We then read the book Monster Musical Chairs by Stuart J. Murphy. This book was a math lesson. The students counted the monsters and then we subtracted one at a time. We used the white board to manipulate the numbers and monsters as we subtracted them.  After snack, we headed over to the library. At the library Mrs. Wilson read the book Otter Loves Halloween! by Sam Garton. When we returned to school we washed our hands and then played in centers. Before lunch, we read the book Freight Club by Ethan Long. Our God and Me devotional was about fighting and how sometimes we get mad and fight with our family and friends. We prayed and asked God to help us to calm bodies and use our big voice to solve the problem rather than fight or argue.  After lunch, we went outside and played at the All Saints playground.

Teddy Bear Club had a super happy Friday. The boys and girls arrived at school with smiles and did their morning jobs. We played in large motor centers until it was circle time. During circle time we said the pledge of allegiance, checked the weather, and sang our safekeeper commitment. We wished well one of our friends who is sick today. The students danced and connected with each other by singing the song "School Family" and then we did the actions to the "Spooky Walk" song. We calmed our bodies by doing the pretzel breathing technique. As we greeted each friend and he or she shared what they were going to be for Halloween. Next, we had a tornado drill and quietly walked down to the basement and crouched down to cover our necks. We read the book Just say BOO! by Susan Hood.  After snack, the students explored centers while some of the students worked on counting and numbers with play dough on pumpkin play dough mats. Before lunch we wiggled our hands to the song "Five Little Pumpkins" and listened to the story BooWho? by Ben Clanton. Our God and Me devotional was about being caring and giving and taking care of people who are in need of clothes. We prayed asked to help children who do not have warm clothes. The children played inside at the large motor centers.

We had a "Thumping Thursday" today at Teddy Bear Club. To celebrate Thursday we made thumping noises on the carpet with our feet. When the children arrived, they washed their hands and then played in the large motor centers until it was their turn to find their name on the apple tree. The students did their morning job by reading their letters in their name, answering the question of the day and selecting a pumpkin with a letter on it. At circle time we cheered our friend's name, said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather.  We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. Mrs.Bertram was not here today, so we wished her well and safe travels. As a class we welcomed Miss Baldwin to our circle time. The class connected with friends by dancing on the carpet to “Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD and then we all sat on the carpet for the "Spooky Walk” song. Next, we had a fire drill. The children did an excellent job on their second fire drill! When we came back to the classroom, we calmed our bodies by doing the breathing arms and the drain breathing technique. We listened to the book Skeleton Meets The Mummy by Steve Metzger. After snack, we danced to the song "Pumpkins".  Next, it was time for Baby Doll Circle Time. We played peek-a-boo with our babies and did the actions to "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" with our babies before singing our goodnight song to them. Next, it was center time. Before lunch, we read the book All Aboard The Spooky Express by Eric James. Our God and Me devotional was about clothes and how our cotton shirts are made from  cotton from a cotton plant that God made. We prayed and thanked God for our clothes.  After lunch, we went outside and played at the All Saints playground.

It was great seeing so many friends and familys at Open House last night. Today we had a fun filled day at Teddy Bear Club. The boys and girls did their morning jobs and answered the question of the day, which asked them if they like jack-o'-lanterns. We played in large motor centers until it was circle time. During circle time we said the pledge of allegiance, checked the weather, and sang our safekeeper commitment.. The students danced and connected with each other by singing the song "Who" on the Kindness Counts CD. We calmed our bodies by doing the drain breathing technique before our book. We read the book Pumpkin Pumpkin by Jeanne Titherington. In this book it shows how pumpkins grow. Some of the children had the oportunity to come up to the felt board and place a pumpkin piece of the pumpkin on the board to represent each stage in the growing process. Next we listened to song called "Spooky Walk" and did the spooky actions throughout the song. After snack, the children explored the learning centers. Before lunch we listened to the book Turkey or Trick or Treat by Wendi Silvano.  God and Me was about Our Homes, we thanked God for our homes and told why we like our home.  Most answers were because it is quiet and comfy.  After lunch, we went over to All Saints playground.

While at the library, Mrs. Wilson read the book The Black Cat Creeping by Teddy Slater. We checked out our books and returned to school. At Teddy Bear Club we washed our hands and then played in centers. During center friends helped clean out our T-Th pumpkin of all the seeds before we carved it. Some friends liked the slimy feeling of the seeds, while other preferred to just watch. Before lunch, we talked about all the changes that we are seeing outside during the season of fall. We then listened to the book In the Middle Of Fall by Kevin Henkes. Our God and Me devotional was about sharing and how God shares everything with us. We prayed and asked God to help us to be kind and share like Him. After lunch, we went outside and played at the All Saints playground. Hope to see everyone at Open House tonight 6:00-7:00!

Welcome back!  Today, things are a little different since there is no preschool. The children enjoyed playing in the centers.  Mrs. Bertram read the book called "Room on the Broom" by Julia Donaldson.  Then they watched the movie Room on the Broom.  They enjoyed some popcorn while watching the movie.  Afterwards the children compared the book and the movie to find the differences between them.  The children continued to play in the centers.  Before lunch they listened to a book on tape called "Little Ghost" by Vivian French. God and Me was about Dressing Up. Our prayer was: Dear God, help me to grow up to be like You. Amen. After lunch, we went to the All Saints playground to run out some of the built up energy!

The students danced and connected with each other by singing the song "School Family". We calmed our bodies by doing the pretzel breathing technique. The question of the day asked the students if they like square pumpkins. Four friends said that they do not like square pumpkins. Together we counted the "yes" and "no" answers and then added the numbers together to see how many friends were at school today. We before our book we talked about how pumpkins are a gift from God and they come in different shapes, colors and sizes. We read the book Spookley's Costume Party by Joe Toiano. This book is about a square pumpkin who is trying to find a costume that fits his body. His friends help him to discover that painting himself with swirls and twirls is the best costume for his body.  After snack, the students explored centers and helped clean out our M-W-F pumpkin. We all had slimy fingers as we pulled out the pumpkin seeds. Before lunch we wiggled our hands to the song "Five Little Pumpkins" and "Alligator and Monkey" by Dr. Jean. Our God and Me devotional was about being thankful and praising God for everything He gives us. We praised God by singing a thankful song to Jesus. After lunch we played in large motor centers.

What another great picture day! When the students arrived, we voted on how we are going to carve our T-TH classroom pumpkin. The children played in centers until it was time to meet Jerry, the photographer. We then listened to the book IT’s Pumpkin Time! by Zoe Hall. While some of the children got their picture taken we danced on the carpet to "Welcome", "School Family" and Get Ready" on It Starts in the Heart CD. The students then played in centers until it was their turn. After the group picture we ate snack. We welcomed back a student who was sick and then counted our kindness flowers. Before lunch we sang "Five Little Pumpkins" and listened to the book entitled The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams. One of the students shared his show-n-tell. Our God and Me devotional was about worrying and how sometimes worrying makes us sad. We prayed and asked God to help us when we get worried. After lunch we played outside on the All Saints playground.

It was picture day! Our day began a little differently than a typical day at Teddy Bear Club. As friends arrived we voted on how we are going to carve our M-W-F classroom pumpkin. The students played in centers until it was time to meet Jerry, the photographer. We then sat down to listen to Jerry's favorite Halloween story called The Hallo-wiener by Dav Pilkey. The story is about a wiener dog named Oscar, who gets teased all the time, which makes him very sad. At the end of the story Oscar saves the other dogs and they all become friends. While a few children at a time got their picture taken we danced on the carpet tour pumpkin and spider songs. The students then played in centers until it was their turn. During centers the children had an opportunity to get their morning greeting, answer the question of the day, and pick a pumpkin with a letter on it out of the caldron. After the group picture we ate snack. When snack was over one of our friends shared her show-n-tell. We then all danced to the song "Wish You Well" by Dr. Becky Bailey and then we counted our kindness flowers. Before lunch we sang "Five Little Pumpkins" and  listened to the book entitled The Biggest Pumpkin Ever by Steve Kroll.  Our God and Me devotional was about doctors and how they help take care of us when we are sick. After lunch we played outside on the All Saints playground.

For the rest of our busy week we will be learning all about pumpkins. This morning the children played in the large motor centers and then did their morning jobs. The boys and girls are learning the letters in their first and last names. Friends pulled a spider out of the caldron and identified the color and shape on the spider. At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather. Together we sang the safekeeper song and our class commitment song .Next, it was time to connect with friends by dancing to ”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. To calm our bodies before a book we did the pretzel and S.T.A.R breathing technique.  We sang the song "Five Little Pumpkins" and then read the book I Like Pumpkins by Jerry Smath. After snack, we sang the song "I am a Little Pumpkin" and then explored the centers. During centers some friends made silly pumpkins using all the shapes that we have been learning. Before lunch, we listened to the book Little Boo by Stephen Wunderli. Our God and Me devotional was about forgiveness. We prayed and asked Jesus to help us forgive our friends when they hurt us. After lunch, we went outside and played on the All Saints playground. Tomorrow and Thursday is picture day! Please have your child wear dress clothes both days if he or she will be here on Wednesday and Thursday. Don't forget to bring your smiles!

We were busy toady at Teddy Bear Club. Friends arrived to school and did their morning jobs. Each student was assigned a new classroom job this week. We sang our classroom commitment song and wished well friends who were not here today. Snack was early because a fire truck visited. After snack, Teddy Bear Club friends bundled up and went outside to learn about fire safety. We learned that a fire alarm should be in all bedrooms and that the door should be closed when we sleep. A firefighter showed us how he puts on all his firefighting gear to protect himself. We learned about the many tools and equipment on the fire truck and we got to see the lights flash. Next, we headed over to the library where Mrs. Wilson read the book Fall is for Friends by Suzy Spafford. When we returned to school from the library we got to listen to Rubble's weekend adventure that he had with one of our friends. Rubble showed us pictures of the many fun activities he did with her and her family. We reviewed what the Safe Place is used for and each friend got to do one more peek before we officially opened it today. The children then explored centers. Before lunch, sang "Five Little Pumpkins" song. We also listened to the book Corduroy’s Best Halloween Ever! by Don Freeman. Our God and Me devotional was about feeling angry when a friend is mean. We learned that Jesus wants us to be nice to people even when they are mean to us. We talked about calming our bodies down first and then using our big voice to talk to a friend that is being mean. After lunch, we played at All Saints School.

Although it was wet and cold outside, inside Teddy Bear Club we had a fun Friday! The boys and girls arrived at school with smiles and did their morning jobs. The question of the day asked the students is they have ever seen a fuzzy spider. Two of our friends have seen a fuzzy spider. We played in large motor centers until it was circle time. During circle time we said the pledge of allegiance, checked the weather, and sang our safekeeper commitment. We wished well one of our friends who is sick today and another friend who is traveling. We also welcomed back one of our friends. The students danced and connected with each other by singing the song "Who" on the Kindness Counts CD. We calmed our bodies by doing the drain breathing technique before our book. We read the book Sophie's Big Voice by Dr. Becky A. Bailey. In the book Sophie learns to stand up for herself by using her big voice and with the help of her mother she tells her brother to stop and then tells him what safe action he could do instead. After our book, each student practiced using his or her big voice. After snack, the students explored centers. During centers each child got to learn about and explore the Safe Place. Before lunch we wiggled our hands to the song "Itsy Ditsy Spider" by The Learning Station and "Spider on the Floor" by Raffi. Our God and me devotional was making pictures for people we love. We prayed for our friends and family.  After lunch we played in large motor centers.

It is starting to feel like fall. We will be going outside even when it is cold. Please make sure to have your child bring a hat, mittens and a warm jacket.  After the students did their morning jobs, they played in the large motor centers. Today one of the children’s’ morning jobs was to pick a spider out of the caldron and tell Mrs. Moore the shape and the color on the spider. At circle time we said the pledge and checked the weather. Together we sang the safekeeper song and our class commitment song. Next, it was time to connect with friends by dancing to”Welcome” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. To calm our bodies we did the balloon breathing technique. We went over our day's schedule and then one of our friends shared her show-n-tell with us. The book we listened to today was entitled Itsy Bitsy Spider by Keith Chapmann. This is not the traditional Itsy Bitsy Spider story. In this story the spider visited several animals that we put on the board as we listen to the story and then reviewed the sequence of events by putting the animals in order.  After snack, we split up into groups again. Some friends played a spider counting game, while other friends learned about the feeling, scared. The students shared a time when they felt scared. We then explored the safe place and talked about why and when we can visit the Safe Place. Next, we played in centers. Before lunch, we listened to the book The Fox and the Falling Leaves by Julia Rawlingson. Our God and Me devotional was about party clothes and how sometimes we dress up to go to parties. After lunch, the children played outside on the All Saints playground.

No library day today because of the book fair. You can return your book any day of the week. Today is the last day of the book fair. As a class we cheered out letter in our flag holder's name before we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather. We sang our safekeeper commitment, and we wished our friends well who were not at school today. We calmed our bodies by doing the balloon breathing technique and then danced and sang to the song "School Family" on the It Starts in the Heart CD by Dr. Becky Bailey.  We sang the song "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and "There is a Spider on the Floor" by Raffi. We read the book entitled Stunning Spiders by Martha E. H. Rustad.  After snack, we talked about anger and sadness and the steps we can take to help us when we are sad or angry. We talked about the Safe Space and how we can go there to calm our bodies. Next, we played in centers, while some friends made spiders. We played outside in the outdoor centers until it was time for pick up. Before lunch, sang the song "Got A Little Ghost Ghost" By Caspar Babypants. We moved our bodies to "Move and Freeze" by The Learning Station. Our God and me devotional was about the wind and how beautiful it is. We talked about what we like to do on windy days.  After lunch we played outside at the All Saints playground

We moved our bodies by dancing to ”School Family” on the It Starts with the Heart CD and then we connected with our friends by singing the Conscious Disciple's version of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". To calm our bodies before a book we did the thumb tracker breathing technique.  We read the book Seaver the Weaver by Paul Czajak. This book was about an orb spider who liked to weave other shapes than just circles. He weaved triangles, squares and hexagons. During the book the students identified the color and the shape that Seaver weaved. This was a fun and interactive book. After snack the class split up. Some friends went with Mrs. Bertram to play a color identifying counting spider game. The students with Mrs. Moore did a mini lesson in our Feeling Buddies Self-regulation lesson about how we look and feel when we are scared. We also did a tour of the Safe Place. During centers some friends made spiders. The fall sensory table was opened and the children had fun playing with bugs, ghosts, bats, and pumpkins. Before lunch, we listened to Dinofours, It's Halloween by Steve Metzger.  Our God and Me devotional was about drinking water and how some countries do not have clean drinking water. After lunch, we ran on the pathway by the church.

There were a lot of creepy crawlers at Teddy Bear Club today. When the children arrived, they washed their hands and then played in the large motor centers until it was their turn to find their name on the apple tree and do their morning jobs. All the students have a new job for the week. At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song. The class connected with friends by dancing on the carpet to”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD.  We calmed our bodies by using the S.T.A.R breathing technique.  We sang the song "There is a Spider on the Floor" by Raffi. During this song, a spider crawled on the floor and onto the children. We read the book Spiders by Christopher Nicholas. The class had a discussion about different types of spiders and spider body parts.  After snack, our babies came out to play for Baby Doll Circle Time, our number this week is the number two, and so after snuggling our babies we counted the babies' two hands, two ears, two eyes, two feet, and two eyebrows. We played peek-a-boo and tickled the babies' tummies. Next, we played in centers, while some friends made spiders. Before lunch, we read the book What a Scare, Jesse Bear by Nancy White Carlstrom. Our God and Me devotional was about best friends and how Jesus is our best friend. We prayed and thanked Jesus for always being there for us and being our best friend. After lunch, we went outside and played at the All Saints playground.

Happy Happy Friday! The boys and girls arrived at school with smiles and did their morning jobs. We played in large motor centers until it was circle time. During circle time we said the pledge of allegiance, checked the weather, and sang our safekeeper commitment. We calmed our bodies by doing the drain breathing technique before our book. We read the book Sophie Rants and Raves by Dr. Becky A. Bailey. In the book anger got ahold of Sophie which caused her to rant and rave. Her mother helped Sophie to be a S.T.A.R by breathing, which calmed her body. After our book we moved our bodies to the song "Get Ready" and "I Wish You Well" on the It Starts in the Heart CD by Dr. Becky Bailey.  After snack, we headed to the scholastic book fair. The students have a book wish list in their bag. When we arrived back at school the students explored centers. Before lunch we wiggled our hands to the song "Wiggle This" by Dr. Jean and we danced to “Move and Freeze" on the Brain Boogie Boosters CD by The Learning Station. Our God and me devotional was about show-n-tell and how it is nice to tell people about ourselves. We thanked God for all the people who listen to us. After lunch we played in large motor centers. We hope to see friends at All Saints Fun Night at 6:00!

Teddy Bear Club friends had a fun day learning about leaves. The children played in the large motor centers and then did their morning jobs. We wished well and prayed for our friend's grandpa who had surgery today. One of our friends shared her show-n-tell about her family. We moved our bodies by dancing to ”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. To calm our bodies before a book we did the S.T.A.R breathing technique.  We read the We're Going On A Leaf Hunt by Steve Metzger. This was a fun and interactive book. After the book we all stood up and each friend got a leaf. We told each other what color leaf we were holding. The class sang the song "Did you Ever See a Tree? When we named a color of the leaf the friends were holding, they threw their leaf in the air like it was falling from a tree.  After snack, we moved our bodies to the song “ School Family" on It Starts in the Heart  CD. In our Feeling Buddies Self-regulation lesson we talked about the feeling, anger. We talked about how sometimes anger takes a hold of us and if that happens we can be a S.T.A.R by breathing and calming our bodies so we can think better. We listened to the song "Anger Got Ahold of Me" and "Breathe" on the Listen to Your Feeling CD by Dr. Becky A. Bailey. After the songs the children played in the centers. It is so exciting when we are in a new month. The boys and girls entered the classroom in awe as they noticed the fall decor and new toys. The students did their morning jobs and were assigned their job for the week. Some of our friends are now working on recognizing their first and last name. We played in large motor centers until it was circle time. As a class we clapped out the letters in our flag holder's name before we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather. We sang our safekeeper commitment, and we wished our friends well who were not at school today. We calmed our bodies by doing the thumb tracker breathing technique and then danced and sang to the song "Get Ready" on the It Starts in the Heart CD by Dr. Becky Bailey. We talked about families and how each family is unique and special. Next, we read a book about families entitled Families by Daisy Baez. During snack we compared our germ apple to our clean apple. The germ apple was full of black spots were the germs were starting to decompose the apple. The claen apple was just brown. We are cleaning our hands correctly at Teddy Bear Club. Next, we headed over to the library. At the library Mrs. Wilson showed us a video about the books that will be at the Book Fair for sale. After the library we learned about all the new toys in the centers and then we played in the centers. During centers a few friends got to talk to Mrs. Moore about their family members and then place a sticker on a house to represent each person in their family. Before lunch, an alligator puppet came out to ask the students if they had seen any monkeys. Next, the children sang and did the actions to the song "Alligator and Monkey" by Dr. Jean. Our God and me devotional was about forgiveness and how sometimes it is hard to forgive. We talked about how God can help us to forgive.   After lunch we played outside at the All Saints playground.

We sang the song "Seasons" by Dr. Jean and talked about all the changes that are happening in the season of fall. Next, it was time to connect with friends by dancing to ”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. To calm our bodies before a book we did the balloon breathing technique.  We read the Fall Leaves Fall! by Shari Halpern. After the book we all stood up and each friend got a leaf. We told each other what color leaf we were holding. The class sang the song "Did you Ever See a Tree? When we named a color of the leaf  the friends were holding, they threw their leaf in the air like it was falling from a tree.  After snack, we moved our bodies to the song “ School Family" on It Starts in the Heart CD. The students held a feeling buddy angry face and described what angry looks like and shared a time when they were angry. We talked about sometimes we feel angry when we do not get what we want or when things do not go the way the way we want it to. Friends shared ways they calm their bodies when they are angry. After our lesson the children enjoyed playing in centers. During centers some friends painted a maple leaf using sponges. Next, we went outside to play. Before lunch, we read the book Pete the Cat, I love My White Shoes by James Dean. Our God and Me devotional was about sharing and how it is kind to share.  After lunch, we went outside and played on the All Saints playground.

Today our T-Th Friends were surprised to see all the fall decorations. Everyone at Teddy Bear Club is getting excited for fall. After doing their morning jobs, the students played in the large motor centers. During this time some friends talked to  Miss Collum about their friends and put stickers in a house to represent each member of their family. At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather. Together we sang the safekeeper song and our class commitment song. Next, it was time to connect with friends by dancing to”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. To calm our bodies we did the balloon breathing technique. We went over our day's schedule and then one of our friends shared her show-n-tell with us. Next, we talked about different types of families and how all families are beautiful and special. Friends had an opportunity to talk about their family and then count the members of their family and put their house on a chart under the number, which represents the number members that are in their family. After snack we talked about how at Teddy Bear Club is a school family and that we all care about each other. We moved our bodies to the song "School Family Song" on It Starts with the Heart CD. Today in our Feeling Buddy Self Regulation Curriculum learned about the feeling, sad. We talked about how we feel and look when we are sad. Next, we learned about the toys in each center and then we played in the centers. Before lunch, we talked about how friends at Teddy Bear Club are becoming more independent and are doing things like zipping up their coat all by themselves. We read the book All by Myself by ALIKI. Our God and Me devotional was about saying sorry when we know we did something unkind. We learned that God can help us to say sorry. After lunch, the children played outside on the All Saints playground.

We had so much fun with our teddy bears toady! Friends began their day by naming their teddy bear. The children did their morning jobs and played in the large motor centers. A few of our friends were absent today, so we wished them well. In our circle we greeted our friends and all the teddy bears. The students danced on the carpet to ”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. Next, we read the book It's The Bear! by Jez Alborough. After our book we danced some more to the  "Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear" song. At snack we celebrated our class bear's birthday and ate apple cake. After snack, we had a tornado drill and walked quietly down the stairs to the basement. Next, we took our teddy bears outside to play parachute games. We talked about how the parachute is a circle made up of many kinds of triangles. Each friend said the name of the color he or she was holding. The children counted the teddy bears as they tossed each one on the parachute. Before lunch we danced to the “Tooty Ta” song. Our God and me devotional was about keeping our teeth healthy. We thanked God for dentists.  After lunch, we played in large motor centers.

Today we had a fun filled Teddy Bear Day! We began our day by naming our teddy bears. The girls and boys played in the large motor centers until it was their turn to find their name on the apple tree. At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and our class commitment song to help us be safe in the classroom. Next, we greeted our friends and their teddy bear with our good morning song. The book we read today is entitled Where's My Teddy? by Jez Alborough. After our book we danced on the carpet to ”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD and "Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear". The students then lined up and we played follow the leader with our teddy bears. Before snack we had a fire drill. The children did an excellent job for their first fire drill. We celebrated one of our friend's birthday during snack time and a few more friends taste tested three different types of apples. When snack was finished we took our teddy bears outside to enjoy a ride on a parachute. We popped our teddy bears up and down like popcorn and then we lifted  them all up at the same time. Before lunch we listened to Tiptoe Joe by Ginger Foglesong.  Our God and me devotional was about all the many people who teach us every day.  After lunch, we went outside and played on the All Saints playground.

We connected with our friends by singing and doing the actions to the conscious discipline version of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” with a friend.  At the circle we talked about what to expect when we go to the All Saints library and then we read the book Library Door by Toni Buzzeo. After snack, we headed over to the library. At the library Mrs. Wilson read the book The Little Red Fort by Brenda Maier. After library we played in centers while some friends painted their apple and then we went outside to play. Before lunch we listened to the story Yes We Can! by Sam McBratney. Our God and me devotional was about how beautiful and unique birds are. We thanked God for all the amazing birds He created.  After lunch we played outside at the All Saints playground

We had a wonderful Wednesday at Teddy Bear Club! When the children arrived, they washed their hands and then played in the large motor centers. When it was their turn to find their name on the apple tree, they greeted Mrs. Moore and read each letter in their name. At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and the class commitment song.  The class danced on the carpet to”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. The students connected with a friend by singing the conscious discipline version of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. We calmed our bodies by using the S.T.A.R breathing technique.  The book we listened to was entitled Up Up, Up! It’s Apple Picking Time by Jody Fickes Shapiro. As a class we discussed that when we touch things with our hands or cough in our hands, we get germs (small bugs that our eyes cannot see) on our hands and some germs make us sick. We talked about how when we wash our hands the correct way, we wash away those germs. To help us understand that concept better we rubbed our dirty hands on an apple and to tomorrow we will be rubbing our clean hands on an apple. In a few days we will compare the apples. During snack, we tasted three types of apples and then each child shared with the class what apple he or she liked best. We recorded on a chart everyone’s favorite apple.  After snack, we sang the song "I am Special" on the I am Special CD.  Today during Baby Doll Circle Time, children put their babies on their stomach to help them crawl and on their back to tickle them. We rocked our babies, snuggled them and kissed them goodnight.  Next, we played in centers, while some friends made apples with play dough and counted their apples to match the number they were given.  Before lunch, we listened to the story Shark in The Dark by Peter Bently. Our God and Me devotional was about how animals live in different types of environments.   After lunch, we went outside on the All Saints playground. Remember to bring a Teddy Bear tomorrow and Friday for our Teddy Bear celebration.

Hopefully now with more cool weather we will see less biting bugs. We played in large motor centers until it was circle time. The boys and girls each got a new job this week. We said the pledge of allegiance, checked the weather, sang our safekeeper commitment, and we wished our friends well who were not at school today. We calmed our bodies by doing the pretzel breathing technique and then danced and sang to the song "Get Ready" on the It Starts in the Heart CD by Dr. Becky Bailey. At circle we talked about seasons and that now we are in the season of autumn or fall. All the students looked at our classroom family tree and noticed that the leaves changed color. We also talked about apples and how fall is the season for apple picking. The children shared the different apple dishes and drinks that they like the most. We read the book The Apple Pie Tree by Zoe Hall.  After snack, we moved our bodies to the song "It Starts in the Heart" by Dr.Becky Bailey. We spilt in groups and talked about sizes and then put our apple shapes in size order. Next, we explored centers. During centers some friends painted an apple using an apple to paint with. If the students chose to paint a red apple then he or she used a Red Delicious apple to paint with. Next, we went outside to play. Before lunch we read the book Log Hotel by Anne Schreiber. Our God and me devotional was about our nose and how we use our nose to smell good and bad smells. After lunch we played outside at All Saints playground.

Teddy Bear Club friends had a super last day of summer. In the morning children played in the large motor centers and then did their morning jobs. The boys and girls are able to recognize their names and they are learning the letters in their names. At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather. Together we sang the safekeeper song and our class commitment song. We wished well all the students who were absent by singing our wish well song for each child. Next, it was time to connect with friends by dancing to ”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. To calm our bodies before a book we did the balloon breathing technique.  We read the book I Am a Rainbow by Dolly Parton. The students stood on each color as we talked about the color and the emotion. After snack, we moved our bodies to the song “ I am Special” on the I am Special CD. In our Feeling Buddies Self-regulation lesson we talked about the feeling, sad. The student held a feeling buddy sad face and described what sad looks like and shared a time when they were sad. After our lesson the children enjoyed playing in centers. Before lunch, we danced to the song "Freeze" by Greg and Steve. Our God and Me devotional was about feeling happy and how we smile when we are happy. Each student smiled to the friend next to them until everyone had a smile on their have. We talked about how spending time with God and friends makes us happy. After lunch, we went outside and played on the All Saints playground.

Today at Teddy Bear Club the girls and boys played in the large motor centers until it was their turn to find their name on the apple tree and do their morning jobs. At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and our class commitment song to help us be safe in the classroom.  Some of our friends who were absent came back today. The Students welcomed them back with our welcome back song. Friends practiced a new breathing technique called the thumb tracker. This was a very popular technique.  After breathing we danced on the carpet to ”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD. A new friend visited the classroom today, Harry, our frog puppet. Harry talked to the students about how each one of them is special. He also talked about eyes and that some friends have different colored eyes.  We read the book Hungry Harry  by Joanne Partis. After snack, we moved our bodies to the song “ I am Special” on the I am Special CD. We read the book The Eye Book by Theo. LeSieg. We talked about how our eyes help us. A student’s name was then selected and that friend identified his or her name and then put the name card on the eye color graph. All the students told the class their eye color and the students repeated each student’s name and eye color.  Next, we played in centers. Before lunch, we read the book Glasses For D.W by Marc Brown. Our God and Me devotional was about Jesus and how He is God’s son.  After lunch, we went outside and played on the All Saints playground.

A few of our friends were back from being absent so we sang to them our welcome back song. The class connected with friends by dancing on the carpet to”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD.  We calmed our bodies by using the S.T.A.R breathing technique. The children listened to a flannel board lesson entitled Sharing Names from our I am Special Religion Curriculum. The story was about a boy named David who was sad when he arrived at school and Julia introduced herself and gave him his name tag. They then went to the carpet and met the other friends wearing name tags. All the students learned each other’s name. David then changed his face from a frown to a happy face. The teacher told the students that they all are special and that their name is a part of what makes them special. We got up and sang the song "I am Special" on the I am Special CD.  After snack, we sang the song "I am Special" again and this time we connected with our friends. Today during Baby Doll Circle Time, children put their babies up high and down low. They gently touched their babies' nose, ears and the side of their babies’ eyes and mouth as we sang a song.  Next, we played in centers, while some friends read the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin, Jr and John Archambaul. After the story the children talked about the first letter of their name and then decorated their letter to put on the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Board. Before lunch, we listened to the story Huggly Gets Dressed By Tedd Arnold. Our God and Me devotional was about rainbows and how God put a rainbow in the sky as a promise He would never flood the whole world again.  After lunch, we went outside and played at the Teddy Bear Club's playground.

What a terrific Tuesday at Teddy Bear Club. Today we were able to enjoy the sun before the clouds came out. Friends arrived and played in the large motor centers until it was their turn to find their name on the apple tree. Each child picked his or her apple, greeted Mrs. Moore and found his or her person to put in the safekeeper box. Students read each letter in their name and then answered the question of the day. Only three of our friends do not have a garden growing in their yard. At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and we went over our class commitments to help us to be safe in the classroom. We wished well all the students who were absent today. The class practiced our drain breathing technique and then danced on the carpet to”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD.  The book we read today was entitled Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault. We talked about our names and the letters that start our name. After snack, we moved to the song "Jobs Count" on Kindness Counts CD by Dr. Becky Baily. We then talked about how each job that the children have helps our school family. The children really seem to like having the same job every day. We began our Feeling Buddies curriculum with the song "It's Buddy Time" on the Listen to your Feelings CD. Next, we passed around our feeling buddy faces and described what happens to our faces when we are happy. Friends went around the circle and shared what makes them feel happy.  During center time, a few friends decorated the first letter of their name to put on our Classsroom Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Board. Next, we went outside to play. Before lunch we read the book Pig the Pug by Aaron Blabey. Our God and Me was about how we can help keep animals safe. After lunch, we played inside in the large motor centers.

After library we went outside to play. Before lunch we listened to the story Dinofours, It's Time for School by Steve Metzger. Our God and me devotional was about following rules and why it is important to follow rules. We prayed and asked God to help us follow rules. After lunch we played inside in the large motor centers.

We said the pledge of allegiance, checked the weather and counted our friends’ name who answered yes and no to the question of the day. After singing our safekeeper commitment, we wished our friends well who were not here today. We calmed our bodies by doing the drain breathing technique and then danced and sang to the song "Get Ready" on the It Starts in the Heart CD by Dr. Becky Bailey. Next, we connected with a friend by singing the conscious discipline version of "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" with partners. The book we read toady is entitled The Way I Feel by Janan Cain. During the book we talked about what our body looks like and feel like when we experience different types of emotions. After snack, we moved our bodies to the song "That was Helpful" on the It Starts in the Heart CD. We started our Feeling Buddies Self-regulation Curriculum today. All the students got to hold a happy feeling buddy face and we talked about what our face looks like when we are happy. We shared with our friends what makes us happy. Next, we explored centers and then we went outside to play. Before lunch we read the book Tumble Bumble by Felicia Bond. Our God and me devotional was about reading stories before bed with our family. After lunch we played outside on the All Saint playground.

The question of the day asked the children if they have ever seen a rainbow. All of our friends have seen rainbows, but two friends. At circle time we said the pledge of allegiance and checked the weather together. We sang the safekeeper song and we went over our class commitments to help to be safe in the classroom. The class practiced a new breathing technique called the pretzel. After breathing we danced on the carpet to ”Get Ready” on the It Starts with the Heart CD.  We talked about how each family is different and some friends have brothers and sisters and some don’t. Three of our friends have new siblings that were just recently born. We talked about what it is like to have a new baby in the house and that babies need a lot of love and gentle touches, like hugs. The book we read today was entitled Sophie’s New Sibling by Dr. Becky A. Bailey.  After snack, we moved our bodies to the” Welcome “ on It Starts in the Heart CD. Today we started our Baby Doll Circle Time curriculum. The children sang to their baby and played peek-a-boo with their baby. Next, we played in centers and then we went  outside to play. Outside we released another butterfly and watch it fly away. Before lunch, we read the book Stand Tall Molly Lou Melon by Patty Lovell. Our God and Me devotional was about siblings and families. We thanked God for our families.  After lunch, we went outside and played on the All Saints playground.

In this book a little girl was being kind and helpful to a new student, who was sad. After snack, we moved our bodies to That was Helpful Song” on It Starts in the Heart CD.  During center time, a few friends made helpful hands to put in our classroom book. Next, we went outside to play and released two butterflies toady. Before lunch we danced to the “Tu Ti Ta” song by Dr. Jean. Our God and Me was about how fun birthday parties are and we thanked God for parties. After lunch, we went outside and played on the All Saints playground.

Today, on this beautiful Tuesday we learned about being helpful.  The children arrived; they picked their apple from the apple tree and read each letter in their name. Each child greeted Mrs. Moore and answered the question of the day. Everyone in Teddy Bear Club likes to ride a bike. The students played in large motor centers until it was time for circle time. At the circle time we began by saying the pledge of allegiance and then we looked out the window to see what the weather is like today. We went over our safekeeper commitments and welcomed back a friend who was gone yesterday. Next, we danced to the song to "Get Ready" on the It Starts in the Heart CD by Dr. Becky A. Bailey. As a class we calmed our bodies by using the balloon breathing technique.  We then read the book When I Feel Good about Myself By Cornelia Maude Spelman. After snack we danced to the song “That was Helpful” on It Starts in the Heart CD by Dr. Becky A. Bailey. The students greeted each other and shared with their friends how they use their helpful hands. Next, the children explored centers, while some friends worked on a helping hands classroom book with Mrs. Moore.  Before lunch we read Pete the Cat Rocking in my School Shoes by James Dean. Our God and me devotional was about  birthdays and why birthdays are so special. After lunch, we played at the All Saints playground.

We had a marvelous Monday at Teddy Bear Cub today.  When the children arrived, they picked their apple from the apple tree and read their name. Each child greeted Mrs. Moore and answered the question of the day. All of the students like ice cream.The students played in large motor centers until it was time for circle time. At the circle we began by breathing with the balloon technique and then we moved our bodies to the song to "Get Ready" on the It Starts in the Heart CD by Dr. Becky A. Bailey. Next, went over what we can do to keep our classroom safe, such as listening ears, hands and feet to ourselves and walking feet. We also talked about when a student sees another student being kind he or she can put a kindness flower in our classroom kindness vase. All the students danced to “Who” on the Kindness Counts CD. As a class we talked about how each one of us are special and what makes us special and why we like ourselves. We then read the book I Like Me! By Nancy Carlson. After snack we practiced lining up and then we went outside to release one of our butterflies. Friends explored centers until it was time to go home. Before some of our friends left we counted our Kindness Flowers. Before lunch we read the book Eddie Gets Ready for School by David Milgrim. Our God and me devotional was about how sometimes we argue with our friends and that we can ask God to help us use kind words. After lunch, we played at the All Saints playground.

What a fabulous Friday at Teddy Bear club today. When the children arrived, they picked their apple from the apple tree and read their name. Each child greeted Mrs. Moore and answered the question of the day. A few off our friends do not like fireworks. The students played in large motor centers until it was time for circle time. At the circle the children were introduced to Sophie, a lighting bug who talked to them about how being helpful is an act of kindness. We also talked about when a student sees another student being kind he or she can put a kindness flower in our classroom kindness vase. We then read the book Sophie's Helpful Day by Dr. Becky A. Bailey. Next, we moved our bodies to the song "That Was Helpful" on the It Starts in the Heart CD by Dr. Becky A. Bailey. After snack we welcomed all our friends and danced to "Get Ready" on the It Starts in the Heart CD by Dr. Becky A. Bailey. During centers Mrs. Moore read the book Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn to a few of our friends. In this story Chester, A little raccoon doesn't want to leave his mom and go to school. Mom raccoon shares a secret with him called the kissing hand. She kisses the palm of his hand and curls fingers up to hold the kiss. Whenever Chester feels sad or lonely at school all he has to do is place his hand on his cheek and his whole body fills up with his mom's love. The students made a kissing hand that was sent home today. Homework for parents and guardians will be sent home today. Please make a kissing hand for your child and send it back to school to be hung above your child's hook. Before lunch we listened to Froggy Goes to School by Jonathan London. Our God and me devotional was about many people in our lives that care and love for us. After lunch, we played in the large motor centers.

Super Thursday at Teddy Bear Club!! The children arrived, picked their apple from the apple tree and read their name. Each child greeted Mrs. Moore and answered the question of the day. The students played in large motor centers until it was time for circle time. At the circle a few more jobs were introduced; S.T.A.R helper, flag holder, kindness counter, song selector and absent student helper. We then read the book Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn. After snack the students came back to the carpet where we wished well one of our friends who was absent today. We sang  the conscious discipline version of "twinkle twinkle little star" with a partner and then danced to the song "Who" on the Kindness Counts CD. After centers we read the book Pete the Cat, The Wheels on the Bus by James Dean. God and me was about never giving up and asking God to help us when we get frustrated. After lunch friends played in the large motor centers.

We had a blast at Teddy Bear Club on our second day of preschool. The boys and girls started the day by picking their apple with their name on it and each student read his or her name to Mrs. Moore.  Mrs. Moore gave a morning greeting to each student and then each student answered the question of the day. All our friends like fish, but one friend.  The children played in large motor centers until it was time to join the circle. At circle time today we talked about how we can keep our classroom safe by sitting with our legs crossed and listening ears. Two new jobs were introduced to the children; attention getter and safekeeper helper. We read the book Mouse’s First Day of School by Lauren Thompson. In this story a mouse explores a preschool and all the same centers that we have at Teddy Bear Club. After snack we moved our bodies to the song “Get Ready” on It Starts in The Heart CD by Jack Hartmann and Dr. Becky Bailey. We then passed Rubble the bear around and sang a morning greeting to each friend. Center time was next followed by a quick science lesson. One of our chrysalises opened and we got to watch a butterfly come out and flap its wings for the first time. Before lunch we read the book If YouTake a Mouse to School by Laura Numeroff. The mouse came out and greeted all the students. Our God and Me devotional was about knitting. We thanked God for all the people who make clothes for us. After lunch we played in the large motor centers because of the rain. Scholastic book order forms are being sent home today and tomorrow. The books make great gifts, provide an opportunity for children to pick books they are interested in and helps Teddy Bear Club to build our school library.  The books orders are due back September 24th.

Teddy Bear Club had a super first day of preschool. The boys and girls started the day by picking their apple with their name on it and each student read his or her name to Mrs. Moore. Next, each student gave Mrs. Moore a morning greeting and then answered the question of the day. The children played in large motor centers until it was time to join the circle. At the circle we danced to the song “Welcome” on It Starts in The Heart CD by Jack Hartmann and Dr. Becky Bailey.  The classroom bear introduced himself to the class. He was a little sad because he missed his mom and dad, but the children made him feel better by breathing and using the balloon technique. We voted and decided to name our classroom bear Rubble. Rubble will be visiting the each student on the weekend starting in October. Mrs. Moore talked to the children about how to be safe while sitting on the carpet and how all teachers are safekeepers and it is our job to keep everyone one safe and their job is to help keep our classroom safe. The children then each got to see our classroom caterpillars, chrysalis and butterfly. We read the book Spot Goes to School by Eric Hill before working on our hand washing procedure and eating snack. After snack we danced and sang the song “Get Ready” on the It Starts in the Heart CD. Next, we learned about each center and then played in the centers. Before lunch we read the book Butterflies by Marfe Ferguson Delano. Our God and Me devotional was about being scared to go to school and asking God to help us when we are scared. After lunch, we went outside to play at the All Saints playground.
